I received a letter in Oct. stating my premium had changed due to insurance lapse.

That was impossible because I purchased my car in July and hadn't lapsed but maybe 1 day- changed insurance carriers. I called they tell me it's from 2014-15. I was blown away. In 2014 my car had lots of issues so i couldn't drive it.

For the next couple of years I was on public transportation. Prior to that I had PGAC- The General insurance. Had Elephant done their job they would have seen I did. But instead they chose to raise my premiums to penalize me for not being able to afford a car!

A few days later I cancelled with Elephant. Yet they have no proof of that, no notes in the system....how convenient is that. I spoke with Eric and he tried so hard to keep me from speaking to a supervisor. First he told me there were no supervisors "today".

Then he told me they were only going to tell me the same thing he's telling me.....I kept insisting on speaking to a supervisor, which after about 5-8 minutes of him trying to sway from it - finally transferred me to Aleshia. Now I reiterated everything I stated to Eric. I also mentioned that when I applied online it didn't give a place to explain lapse of insurance reasons. She kept insisting that it did.

So not only did they not cancel my insurance when I asked (before) the 25th when it was due, they also penalize you for not owning a car. If they truly wanted to know why they would give you a box for your answer. They force you to use their answers without being allowed an explanation. Regarding the lapse in time..."more than 30 days" sounds consecutive, not a time in the past nor breaks in the "past 3 years".

I attached a screenshot of the online app, and how they don't allow you to explain nor do they ask if it's consecutive or breaks in time. They chose not to fully refund my $434 (rounded).

Aleshia kept insisting it was online. Here's to you Aleshia.
